“From the beginning, it was riveting.” –Maya Lai
From Amazon bestselling author Eva Pohler… (oh, yeah, that’s me 🙂
Ellen and her two best friends share a mid-life crisis by hatching a plan to renovate an 1860’s Greek revival in the nearby historic district of San Antonio. Although Ellen isn’t one to believe in ghosts, she comes face to face with something inexplicable in the attic. Her ghost-enthusiast friends convince her that they must help the spirit find closure, and as they dig deeper into the past, they uncover a shocking history that someone in the neighborhood doesn’t want exposed. But Ellen and her friends don’t give up easily. They realize they’ve been called to give voice to the invisible women who suffered behind the walls of the house for decades.

This novel was a blast to write. The three characters are loosely based on me and my two best friends, though I’ve cast us ten years older than we are in real life. The three of us really have discussed doing something adventurous, like flipping an old house, so I ran with the idea using my imagination.
After reading this book, some of my readers convinced me to turn it into a series. They said they loved the characters and want to see them in more novels. So I accepted the challenge and have written the second one, which releases on January 15 and is available for preorder. It’s called The Mystery House 2: Tulsa.
So the concept of this series is that the three friends will go around the country saving old, haunted buildings from the wrecking ball by restoring them to their original beauty and bringing peace to the ghosts that haunt them.
